It's Great to be Eight
Riley, my first born, is EIGHT! I can't believe I have had this ray of sunshine in my life for 8 years! It was such a stressful party planning, but it ended up perfect. Daddy and God were definitely looking out for us!
Riley wanted to go see a movie with friends then pizza after. My stress included the tickets taking FOREVER to get posted for Moana. So I had to invite people and give them a tentative time based on previous weeks show times. Two weeks before the party, times finally get posted...at the wrong time...I quickly had to buy all the tickets and let all the guests know. I had been waiting to confirm the time before booking the pizza place. Well, now Round Table was booked. Luckily a friend suggested The Rock and they were available. Day before the party I decide to check to see how many seats had been sold for our movie and I see that they had posted a show time for the original time I told people. The thing that made me mad was it was in a smaller theater so I could have rented out the whole place, I mean how fun would that be?! Whatever, I had to let it go. Day of the party and there is a massive wind storm. When I get in line to check in at the theater the power went out. It quickly came back on with back up generators but at first I was horrified. Then I realized though that if we had gone to that earlier show time, we would have been in the movie when that happened. So the party goes on, and everyone did great at the movies. We move over to The Rock and it was the PERFECT place to hold her party. The kids had a blast and the staff was amazing. Such a great day. Best of all, the birthday girl loved it.
